James Bennet
Biography:
James is a corporate advisor supporting The Kings Trust, planning their 50th anniversary.
James was a partner for the TMT practice at EY. He led a number of global technology and media clients, both corporates and PE – covering all of EY’s services. James has extensive experience working with UK plc, US and Japanese multinationals.
James’ early career was spent in the music industry, where he launched one of the UK’s leading mail order record businesses, Orbis Record. James founded the European Technology Forum in 1997 and sold the business in 2003 to CNET Network Inc (CBS interactive), the world’s largest tech online media business.
He has been an active angel investor for the past 20 years and has worked in the technology sector with a range of professional services organisations for nearly three decades.
James is on the UK fundraising advisory board of the Kings’s Trust (formally the Prince’s Trust) as well as The Technology Leadership group, helping to raise over £75m. He was a national co-chair for Byte Night in aid of Action for Children. He was appointed MBE (Member of the British Empire) in 2013 for services to young people.
James co-founded Snowball – the ski network in 2001.
