Exemplifies the entrepreneurial credentials of ScaleUp Group members

Founded in only 2018 by Duane Jackson, Staffology which is cloud payroll software has been acquired by IRIS Software Group (IRIS), one of the UK’s largest software companies.

Duane achieved fame after having founded his first business KashFlow in 2003, which he then sold – also to Iris – in October 2013 for a reported £20 million. This was after he had received support from the Prince’s Trust – following a 5-year prison sentence for drug smuggling – where he first met John O’Connell, Chairman of ScaleUp Group, then a Patron of the Prince’s Trust. His book ‘Four Thousand Days’ describes this incredible transformation of someone who also lived in multiple orphanages as a young child.

Duane was subsequently approached by John to become a founding member of ScaleUp Group in June 2015. He has made a noteworthy contribution by providing hard-won advice and guidance to SUG clients ever since then.

John commented “Duane is a shining example of how someone can turn their life around. He epitomises the unquenchable spirit which is seen time and time again in the character of the Entrepreneurs with whom SUG works. We are honoured to have him as a member.”

Duane said, “ScaleUp Group stands for what I believe in – dedication, hard work and stamina – being augmented by receiving support at the right time- as I did from the Prince’s Trust – in this case from the experience and connections of our successful entrepreneurial members.”
