Sector economics: Enterprise Awards aka The IT Oscars

Busy, busy, busy John O’Connell informs that applications are open for the 2016 WCIT Enterprise awards. As you will know these celebrate the very best of the UK and Ireland’s technology entrepreneurial talent, and are the ‘Oscars For Technology Entrepreneurs’. Mr O’Connell has the patience of Job and guides the judging panel (like herding cats – I know this coz I am one) to look for examples of vision, growth, innovation, funding, use of capital, use of resources, strategy, execution, ambition and determination to succeed. Note pleasingly: Sage is co-sponsoring for the second time (last year we had a stirring presentation by Stephen Kelly – not a dry eye in the house – may have been the French onion soup), alongside long term sponsors Cobalt, TechMarketView, and Smith & Williamson and new sponsors ScaleUp Group, Questers, techUK and The Innovation Warehouse. Mr O’Connell tells us that the dinner is attended by many* high profile leaders in Technology, representing a great networking opportunity**. It is a super evening.

The important bits: Application Deadline: 31st May – why wait – do it today. Dinner: 30th June. Venue: The Brewery, Chiswell St, City of London EC1. To do: Complete the application form (enclosed) and send to alex@innovationwarehouse.org.

*The exception proves the rule – I will be there.’
